Facility and amenity reopenings put on hold due to COVID-19 concerns

Due to rising local and state COVID-19 rates as well as concern for residents’ health and safety, facility and amenity reopenings, including personal paddle craft on Standley Lake, have been put on hold.
Standley Lake personal paddle craft use was slated to begin Friday, July 10. If you bought a paddle craft permit, you are eligible for a full refund. If you are interested in keeping your permit, we will prorate the permit fee based on the actual opening date once it is determined. Please email standleylake@westminsterco.gov or call 303-425-1097 if you would like a refund.

Recreation facilities that have already opened - including golf courses, curbside library service, playgrounds and ball fields, among others - will remain open as scheduled or until further notice.

We know this is disappointing for our patrons and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We want our patrons to know that we can’t wait to serve you. Your health and safety are our top priority.

The city began a phased, measured approach to reopening city facilities and amenities in May, as COVID-19 cases were on the decline. Reopening facilities and amenities is contingent on a condition-based approach, and one of those conditions for reopening is that the number of confirmed cases reported by ColoradoJefferson County Public Health and Tri-County Public Health must be declining.

In the last few weeks, there has been a continued increase in the number of COVID-19 cases at the state and local level. Dramatic increases in cases at the national level, including neighboring states, further emphasizes the importance of exercising caution as a city and individually.
Staff will continue to work on reopening plans and will monitor data on a weekly basis to determine when conditions are safe for reopening, and that when we open our doors, patrons and their loved ones will be safe.

For more information visit the city's COVID-19 page or call 303-658-2902.
