What is CommunityRISE?

Our neighborhoods are the heart of our community. When we’re connected with our neighbors - when we try to understand one another and work together - we keep that heart beating.

To recover from COVID-19 we need to do exactly that, so we’ve started CommunityRISE to create strong and united neighborhoods by listening to, learning from, and taking action with our neighbors. So be here, be heard, and join in!

How does it work?

Over the next 10 months, we’ll use a process called participatory design. Participatory design is all about tackling challenges together, so we’ll collaborate through every step of the process.

First, we’ll have conversations in which we’ll listen to each other and learn about the challenges our neighborhoods are facing because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Then, based on what we learn, we’ll create “Design Challenges” that define the problems we need to solve. Finally, we’ll work together on “action teams” to find opportunities for positive action. With our teams, we’ll create, test and implement solutions that will strengthen our neighborhoods, helping them to become more resilient, connected and harmonious than ever.
