Summer Reading Volunteers

Join the Teen Summer Reading Volunteer Team

Westminster Public Library is looking for teen volunteers (ages 12-18) to assist with the 2024 Summer Reading Program, '"Adventure Begins at Your Library". The program runs Saturday, June 1–Wednesday, July 31.

Tasks volunteers will be expected to help with include:

  • Describing the Summer Reading Program to kids, teens, and adults
  • Registering kids, teens, and adults for the Summer Reading Program
  • Tracking participants' completed levels in Beanstack
  • Handing out prizes and bookmark logs to kids, teens, and adults
  • Directing participants to library staff for assistance
  • Assisting library staff with prep, set up, and clean up for library programs

Shifts begin June 1 and consist of one or two hour blocks. Sign up for shifts that fit your schedule, and as many shifts as you'd like. Volunteers are needed for both College Hill and Irving Street.

If this sounds fun, it's' the perfect job for you! In order to participate, start by completing our Teen Volunteer application on the city website. Someone will contact you after your application is submitted to schedule an interview. If you are selected, you will be scheduled for a summer reading volunteer training.
