Westminster Arts Week is a celebration of makers, creators, and artists across our community from the Orchard Town Center to Westminster’s new downtown area to our eclectic Historic Westminster. Arts Week is the result of collaborative partnerships with North Metro Arts Alliance, Westminster Public Schools and their amazing Creative Arts Pipeline, the Paletteers Art Club, the Orchard Town Center, First Hand Markets, and over 30 local businesses. We invite you to join these free events, meet your neighbors and local business owners, meet local makers/creators/artists, make some art for you and your family, and enjoy great local music and performances!

Arts Week kicks off at the Orchard Town Center. Enjoy free music performances and free dance performances, walk through a vibrant artisan market, make your own art, and express yourself through chalk art.

ACTIVITIES

From 1-5 p.m., stroll the central plaza and participate in a community chalk art mural, make art to take home with Whimsy Paint and Sip, and visit the First Hand Markets artisan fair.  Be sure to stop by Create Market Place to meet local makers and creators and find one-of-kind treasures.  Rocky Mountain Olive Oil will be having demonstrations and tasting.  Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory will have a chocolate and caramel demonstration.

The 25th Annual Colorado Visions Art Exhibit is sponsored by the North Metro Arts Alliance and the SCFD.  The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday April 21 from 2-5 p.m. Enjoy refreshments, meet the artists and learn about different art mediums

Enjoy a specially crafted Arts Week mocktail while creating your very own work of art at the Alamo DrafthouseYazmin Atmore, local artist and Art a la Carte instructor, will lead you in creating a fun and funky personal collage.  We will supply all the materials.  You can bring personal photos and memorabilia to personalize your creation.

Join the Westminster Historical Society for a fun-filled and fact-filled evening of trivia specific to Westminster. Learn more about the Kokopelli Beer Company, the first solely woman-owned and operated brewpub in the state of Colorado.

Come to Westminster High School and experience a district wide Celebration of Excellence! Every year, the Westminster School District celebrates the excellence of their students across the district.  Students compete in categories that include visual arts, film, digital art, spelling bees, singing, drama, science fair, Lego building, and more! The community is invited to learn more about these amazing creators, makers and artists.

From 5-8 p.m., check out the Small Works, Spring Art Show at the Fuse Box Container Art Gallery.  This exhibit is sponsored by the Paletteers Art Club and you can local artists.  Sweet Corner Bakery will be leading a cookie decorating session.  PetVet365 will host a pet-painting themed activity, MADabolitic will have cool things to celebrate their grand opening, and Vatos Tacos will be onsite with snacks.

Come join the Westminster High School Orchestras and Mariachi on April 26 at 7 p.m. for their Spring Concert and Awards, "Pirates and Music of the Sea!" Admission is free, but treasure is always appreciated! Sea-themed costumes are encouraged! Shiver me timbers! It’s going to be a great time! So heave ho, and be sure to go to the WHS Joanna Ramsey Theatre on Friday, April 26!

FREE SHUTTLES

Plan to park at Westminster High School or near 72nd and Lowell and jump on a free shuttle to explore nearly 20 different businesses.  Shuttles will operate continuously from 1-6 p.m. to ensure that you are able to see and do all the fun things happening in this terrific area. Shuttles are being provided Sunset LimousineWestminster Public Schools, and Westminster Parks, Recreation, and Libraries

CLOSING RECEPTION

The closing reception for Arts Week will be held at Aar River Gallery which will be featuring a photography exhibit by local Westminster photographer, Greg Cruthis. Enjoy refreshments and meet the artist.

Shuttles will run from Aar River Gallery to Westminster High School until just after 6 p.m.
