There is no cost or renewal fee for business/sales tax licenses. 

Specialty Licenses and Liquor Licenses have separate fees.

Depending on the type of license, full approval can take up to 4 to 6 weeks. 

For commercial locations in Westminster, contact the Planning, Building, and Fire departments before applying to ensure that the use is allowed and that any permits needed are obtained. 

Login to the Online Business Licensing Portal and click the “More” tab. Your licenses is accessible under the Business License tab. You can print it out or save it to a place that you can easily access.

Yes, every business operating within the city needs a license. Each year, you will file a $0 return.

You have two options:

Option 1 (Preferred): Close Through the Portal

• Log in to the Business Licensing Portal.
• Click the “More” tab.
• Under “Manage Locations,” select “Cease a Location.”
  • Why this is preferred: You'll retain access to the portal — including 7 years of tax filing history — even after your account is closed.

Option 2: Close by Email

• Email the City Clerk’s Office with the following:
  • Business name and account number
  • Business address
  • Closure date
  • Reason for closure
• Note: You will not be able to access past tax filings through the portal if you choose this method.
