Parking & Construction Update (July 2025 through Fall 2027)
Beginning mid-July 2025 and continuing through 2027, construction of the replacement courthouse is scheduled to occur. This construction will occur on site, in the existing court parking lot. Due to this, the entrance to the courthouse will shift to the south side of the building off 76th Avenue. If you are mapping directions, please use 3031 W 76th Avenue as your destination. There will be limited on-site parking, and street parking will be necessary. Please utilize the court construction wayfinding map to assist in your arrival.
Please plan to allow additional time for parking and arrival at the courthouse. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
For additional information on this project please visit the Municipal Courthouse Project website.

About Municipal Court
The Westminster Municipal Court's mission is to administer equitable, fair, and impartial justice in a timely and courteous manner, protect fundamental rights, promote public safety, and facilitate community reparation through SPIRIT.
The court handles violations of the Westminster Municipal Code and the Colorado Model Traffic Code for both juveniles and adults. Cases commence with a summons, an affidavit in support of a warrantless arrest, or an application for an arrest warrant. The summons contains information that includes:
- Whether a mandatory court appearance is required
- Whether the matter can be handled with a signature and payment
- Whether there is an early payment point reduction option.
Information on this site applies only to the Westminster Municipal Court. The Westminster Police Department also writes summons into Adams County Court or Jefferson County Court. If you have been ordered to appear at the Westminster Municipal Court, the court's name and address will be listed below the signature box on the front of the summons.
City ordinances, court rules, and state statutes govern court proceedings. Court employees are not allowed to give legal advice, but are happy to answer procedural questions.
All Westminster Municipal Court presiding orders are available for review upon request at the Municipal Court clerk's office.

- Can I change my court date (conflict or illness)?
-
If you were issued a summons with a court appearance date you have a conflict with, you can call the court to ask for up to a two-week extension or you can file a motion with the court asking for a continuance. You may also be an 'Add-on' to our docket on Monday or Tuesday mornings, 7:30 to 9 a.m. before the appearance date on your summons.
If you have a court date and are ill, you can call the court or file the below motion to request a continuance.

- What are my options if I missed my court date?
-
First, you may want to call the court to find out the status of your case. Then proceed with one of the following:
- Come to one of our 'Add-on' dockets which are Monday and Tuesday 7:30 to 9 am.
- If you are unable to do that and a warrant has been issued, you may come to our front counter and post the bond amount set on your case and get a new upcoming court date.
- Mail or fax a motion to the judge including your reason for missing the court date along with your request of how to take care of your case.
- If you missed a court date on a traffic case, call the clerks at 303-658-2250 and they can further advise you of your options.
