Probation Victim Notification

  1. This information is for victims of crime for which the defendant in your case was sentenced to probation by the Westminster Municipal Court. The form can be electronically submitted at this site. Please contact the Victim Services office if you have questions or concerns. The Westminster Police Department Victim Services Unit recognizes that victims of crime, their families, and communities are important recipients of our services and prioritizes the safety of victims affected by crimes of domestic violence.

  2. “…To Be Informed, Present and Heard…”

As a victim, your rights are guaranteed by the Colorado Constitution. Assisting you in understanding your rights and helping you exercise these rights is a top priority. Our goal is to make sure that victims of crime are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity throughout the probation process.

For a complete listing of your rights, please see Colorado Revised Statutes, Sections 24-4.1-101 through 24-4.1-305

During probation supervision, the following critical stages may occur:

    • Probation revocations or modifications
    • Filing of any complaint, summons, or warrant by probation
    • Change of venue or transfer of probation supervision from one jurisdiction to another
    • Requests for release in advance of their imposed sentence or period of probation; probation termination
    • In domestic violence cases only, any conduct by the probationer that results in an increase in the supervision level by the probation department

Per Colorado Revised Statutes, Section 24-4.1-303(13.5)(a), victim notification requests must be made in writing. You may make your request by returning this form. Recent updates in the law require that the victim or their lawful representative opt-in to receive post-conviction (probation) notifications. Please complete the form below and submit to continue to receive court updates and contact with a court victim advocate. It is your responsibility to notify us if you move or change your contact information.
