Cardboard needs to be broken down before arriving and placed into separate containers.
All other common recycling is placed in the same bins and emptied into the compactor. Republic Services takes the contents of the compactor to its recycling facility, where the items are sorted by material type for recycling.

Unfortunately, the site is not large enough to provide composting services. A number of companies offer curbside or drop-off composting services in and around Westminster.

The Westminster Sustainability Center has a compactor for common recycling, which accommodates a great deal of recyclable material. The facility is also staffed. Employees keep the area around the bins neat and tidy.
