Gardens grow vegetables and communities! The most important element in determining a location for a community garden is neighborhood support. The following criteria are used in determining appropriate sites for community gardens:
- High-density neighborhood/limited private yards
- Visibility/safety
- Water availability
- Parking
- Walkability
- Implementation ease (grading, etc.)
- Unserved by other gardens
Before a garden is considered, a public meeting is held to listen to concerns, support and suggestions. Gardens will be developed as the budget allows.
